Boost pressure question

I have a turbosmart 50mmwastegate with a 7psi spring. The wastegate gets its boost reference from the compressor housing. Im only getting 3# of boost on the gauge. the gauges boost source is from the manifold. Could the difference be a drop from the IC, and if so can I use a boost controller to get the boost back to 7psi.

4psi is alot of boost drop for the coldside and intercooler. What style intercooler do you have? You likely have a boost leak somewhere between the turbo and tb.

It's a 4 " think intercooler with 3" piping . I can't remember exact measurement but I had to clearance bumper supports to make it fit on a 2v. I was told it was a procision core but there are no marking on it.

Got a pic? Is it bar and plate or tube and fin? Bar and plate should be 1-2 psi drop tops. Tube and fin can be 4-5psi drop.
