On3Performance install issues need help

I ordered a kit and said i had a 97 cobra and wanted front facing kit for it. i was sent the stuff. but my installer is saying it looks like it is for a 99. which he says has several differences. pipes arent lining up at all. im hoping that either on3 can answer on here for me as i emailed and called and no response. i am sure he will get back to me but since installer has car i need to resolve quickly. it maybe just the wrong kit and this stuff will not line up at all. or maybe there is some modifications that is needed that wasnt discussed in description?

i think once i get a reply from on3 i can proceed. i dont want to have to pay for a bunch of pipe welding and whatnot. i got a feeling it is just something simple like wrong pipes? or maybe after so many productions it is slightly off? either way im sure it will get resolved just need some communication going soon

I do not understand. I have the FF4V (99 up ) kit and I put it on my 97 cobra.
I didnt cut any piping. I did have a problem with the last cold side pipe where it go's from the pass side fender to the TB. It was way off. I ended up just getting a 45deg coupler and played with it. lines up great.

I guess maybe not. I see that they responnded to their own thread on stock but not to things like this. I figured customer service would be at least normal but after full week of nothing getting done i assume they dont care?

I think the kit was designed on a 99 or newer car. but the only difference is the cold side where it hooks to the throttle body. check out this thread

I sent him pics where three places dont come close to being right. Its like those pipes on hot side were either made wrong by accident ( mass produced i guess it could happen) or it is piping mixed up from another kit by accident.

I was not trying to be a douche in my first post when I said good luck. But now you see why. I am not surprised at all you got no answer. I used to have to call from different phones from other area codes to get an answer. I brought it up on their thread and they denied it and ####. They are a joke company. I realize even the best kits don't always fit and you have to massage them a bit. But you should never have to go through the #### I went through. Been a year now since my on3 order experience and I'm still missing the turbo brackets, oil drain and my turbo was messed up when I got it (fins hit the compressor housing, looked dropped). Luckily just ordered the stuff to finish it and said the hell with on3.

Which is why I warn people never to buy from them.

You get what you okay for.

Sorry you got screwed too

I think customer service has to be their worst problem. You can sell the ####tiest stuff in the world but if you take care of customers when they have problems you will do OK. I went through power adder solutions to order my kit. I too was missing the support brackets and a maf flange I paid extra for. I had the missing parts in a few days when I called them. Good luck. I'm sure you will be happy with the performance once it's done. There is nothing like a turbo powered v8!!

Yes good point ordering through PAS is a great idea they will actually take care of you. If you ordered through on3 directly I should have said good luck.

Another customer lost to poor customer service. Chad needs to pay someone to run his shop and just collect the money.

What he should do is have a forum on his web page. This way if he really wanted to stand behind is stuff he would be able to. Everyone would be able to go to one place and ask for help. He wouldnt have to go looking for them.

Thanks for all the concern, yes I do need help here, if you are local and looking for a job, please come see me. I have been away for a week, I dont get time off and I still did answer my phone most of the time I could while I was away. Good help is hard to find

I am a one guy operation, I do not get a chance to sit online, check all forums and follow up on a daily basis. Its just not possible, I would love to but I do emails and get to the phones the best I can.

Regardless if you have a pipe thats in question, you are more than welcome to send it back and Ill test fit what you have against any other production run product we have here. If you have something you flat out what changed, either cut, mark anything you can to show me what to do, Ill re-weld it back up. Its that simple. To have something off like you showed above 45 degrees, there is something else going on. Either you have tried to mount the intercooler first and then run tubing or something major is wrong. You can also email me the full i/c pipe kit laid out for me to verify 100% sure that something wasnt mixed in. Its never happened but we are human and a mistake can happen.

I'd hire someone on the spot but Im not putting someone else in here that is clueless that I have to constantly watch, check and manage. I went through that before and I'd rather deal with my business myself and maybe sell a little less even. The end result in the last case was quite a few losses and I will just not allow that to happen again.

Maybe you can find someone soon. I know how hard it is to find someone with common sense and can deal with the public.

My apologies I didnt realize it was a one man show. That would explain the delay in communication. He has emailed me back and will be helping get the piping situation fixed. Thanks again for the email and service. I look forward to getting this instal finished and the car on the road.

I posted the pics just to show what I did.
I know the kit is for 99 up, and with the 99 up the T/body is on a differant angle then the 96-98 cars. It would have lined up perfect if i had a differant intake. but the 45 elbo did the trick with out cuting.

I had a few small isues when I got my kit but Chad took care of them no problem.Im taking my car to the dyno tomorrow and as long as i didnt miss anything it should all work out good.

Chad, It may be easyer for you if you had a forum on you page. This way it would save you time of having to find the need help threads. That all i was saying. But I know that takes time to.

On3performance: I also am having problems with my final pipe from mass meter to intake manifold, this is on my foxbody. I bought my kit used and one pipe was cut, is there any way I can buy it by its self? I ordered a 90 degree elbow last night. When that gets delivered, if I still can't get a good connection..I need another option.
