This forums is full of biased opinions

I think it's really sad that people come in here asking questions and a bunch of idiots come pouring in with "XYZ sucks" type comments without a single thread of evidence to back it up.

This sort of behavior should be banned.

If you want to send a personal message to someone fine. If you want to post an opinion and back it up with an account of a personal experience then that's fine too.

If you just want to state your useless opinion that doesn't answer the question at all, get out. That kind of post isn't worth the cost of electricity to send it across the internet.

Paging Christopher Ihara and snipe656!!!

I tried complaining to the owners about some things getting out of hand and never really got a response to it. I try every once in awhile but quite frankly I get burned out with it due to it being a constant battle with what seems like a few select people. BTW only admins can ban people, I do not think any of the moderators have that power.

I completely agree.

I have learned so much reading these forums it is ridiculous. More than I learned in 5 years of college. This forum has also been the reason I have spent a ton of money on my car haha. There is a ton of great info on here. You just have to sift through all the bs where people just regurgitate what they have read without any experience or true knowledge on the subject.

Interesting, I was certain the option was not there and just looked to check and now it is. Who should I ban first?

BTW folks this forum for as long as I can remember is full of biased opinions. When I used to be the main moderator on the turbo specific website for Mustangs it too was full of biased opinions. Yes it is worse here because we do not have a wide array of users or I should say owners of different brand kits. So it comes off much worse here than anyone would care to tolerate. The simple fact is if I were to start banning people then we'd probably run out of any posters at all.

If you have a problem with a specific post then my best suggestion is to click the triangle icon in the lower left of the post to report it or to send me a PM. If you make me aware of it and I think your complaint is valid after I read through the thread then I will intervene and try to get people to stop in there. I try to read through things on here every day via my iPhone but just can't make this a full time job since it a) pays nothing b) is an unthankful job and c) I work two real jobs to help pay to get my kids through school

Snipe, I also contacted the owners and I assume they'll be reading this thread.

I think it's simple. Put a sticky at the top announcing that "nutswinging" style posts are no longer welcome here. You're allowed to post your opinion but you need some sort of factual evidence or first hand experience to back things up.

It's so distracting when someone comes to ask a question about a product and the thread is immediately derailed by "XYZ sucks."

The only way to change it is for us to post real tech and facilitate real discussions.

I have been trying now and the. But those of doing that are outnumbered.

Turbo forums is better but seems to be slower since sold, not sure why.

Snipe does a good job with a painful group.

We had some users, who seem to be gone now, who had a real beef with a certain company. Those uses did have more than their fair share of factual proof and especially general experience. Basically they were not talking out of their bums. But they received the same complaints that you are generally expressing here. It is a really hard line to determine when you are flushing out bad apples v. favoring a company and becomes worse if the company is a vendor.

I think a numbe of vendors abuse this entire website but that is not my battle or not one I am going to volunteer for.

But again if you have a problem with any post then let me know. I can only catch so much these days.

I'll tell you what, the few people snipe speaks of make things a clutter sometimes. But a few of them do have some really good info that needs to be shared, it's just they seem to ream the same company and members. The line is to fine and I think maybe alternate thinking should be used. I like the idea of the sticky but you just have to hope those people think about what they post and decipher what is helping, advice and tech vs straight up bashing without facts or personal experience. And the one jerk who pops in once in a while just to talk ish should get banned.

I also think that we should be able to a thread that we start. I started a thread recently, after a few other people posted I realized I was wrong to begin with. Now said thread has turned into a brand bashing thread. I usually only post when I have a question or can answer someone elses question. But, somehow I got sucked in LOL.

Anytime an OP to a thread asks me to delete or lock the thread then I do just that. I suppose in some rare situations I might not. Typically I just lock it since deleting tends to spark others but I am open to either, you just have to PM me with a link to the thread and what you want done.
