My new Comp Oil-less turbo! ;)

Got her the other day and its already going in the car! And the best part no oil! Water cooled only.

Specs CT4-7068 Ported cover powdercoated gunmetal, billet wheel, triplex ceramic ball bearing oil-less billet chra, T4/3"VB turbine housing ceramic coated silver.

This turbo weighs 14lbs on my scale! My old precision 67 weighed 22lbs.

Thanks guys! Havent been on in a few days been busy putting in long days wrenching on my car.
Im a dealer for Comp turbo's so I got a great price. But for what you get yes they are very affordable compared to precision or turbonetics.

The oil-less setup has a billet aluminum center section with ceramic bearings that are lubed by a high temp synthetic grease. It has larger coolant passages and uses water to cool the center section. This allows you take advantage of thermal siphoning with colder water coming it from below and hot return out from above since you arent limited by the orientation of the chra or moutning location etc.

Whats great is bearing and turbo life are actualy longer than an oil cooled turbo be it journal or bb. There are no seals to worry about and this triplex ceramic bearing setup is 99% efficient so less heat and better cooling with the water. Per Comp for a street car service interval is 3 years/36k miles, service includes full tear down and inspection and regreasing, they also state that having the turbo serviced at regular intervals can actualy extend the life of the bearing system indefinetly.

My car comes out on nice days, and ocasional trips to the track and I maybe but 2-4kmiles on it a year so I will run it for three years then have it serviced. Way better than any oil fed turbos I have had most need serviced once a year or so for oil seals.

Thanks! Made 554rwhp 530rwtq at 12psi

And 639rwhp 704rwtq at 18psi Had to let out at 6krpms on the higher boost runs as hp/tq start to nose dive due to back pressure, new hotside has 2.5" piping at the merge to the turbo, going to try and fit a 3" pipe and it should make 700/700 revving to 7k rpms.

Retail would be around $2300, the cost of the coating on the turbine and compressor cover would be more.

Here are some vids to show how the turbo responds after the break in period. On these oil-less turbos the grease comes packed in the center and requires some use to break it in and spread out the grease to coat everything. Both vids are warm idle and then shutting the car off.

First vid is around 100-200 miles on it, it spins for 9-10 seconds.

And second vid is after 500 miles, spins for 25 seconds.

Disregard the smoke lol, I had a power steering like break and puke ps fluid all over which soaked into the header wrap on the turbo piping and its still burning off when the car gets warm.

Now that she is fully broken in this turbo is even more repsonsive. It registers boost almost instantly under normal driving at part throttle. Going to take some vids of it soon. I'm hitting 12psi before 2500rpms, and pulls hard all the way up, love it!

Looks good! I should be getting mine in a week or so. Watch out for fire with that soaked header wrap. I caught my last engine on fire with oil soaked wrap from a leaky block plug. I used some Simple Green and a water hose to wash the oil out of rest of the header wrap.

You will love it. Yeah I took the hose to it to get most of the power steering fluid off, now its just residual, after 5-10 minutes of idling it stopped burning off and smoking, should be good to go now!

Not having to run engine oil through it makes it worth it a million times over for me! Best decision I ever made and only regret is not going oil-less sooner!

I've put around 3-4k on it. Around 12+ dyno pulls as well.

A sneak peak of the twin oil-less kit that will be going on.
Gonna go for 750-800rwhp.
