Is this a good turbo?

76mm Turbonetics - Hurricane Series - Turbocharger - 11534 - 7668 - T4 - Turbo | eBay

Looking for a good starter turbo for a single turbo 4.6 4v build.
What would be a better selection that is still $1,000 or less.

Pretty sure that turbo is going to be too small. Not going to make over 500/550 on a 4.6. Its designed for compact engine compartments and small motors. The turbine wheel is a 68mm. You want to look for one that is 75mm.
Buy a used "regular sized" 76 and have it rebuilt if need be if your trying to spend less than a grand.

Whats your hp/boost goal? My buddy made 640 to the wheels with a Turbonetics TC76 with a .96a/r at 14psi in a 6.0 chevy. Shoot my lil master Power T70 with a .68a/r made 485rwhp on a stock 302 with a f cam and systemax manifold. Im going with a h/c/i 351w and upgrading turbo to a t76 with a F1 wheel hoping for 600rwhp.

Never been too impressed with turbonetics stuff in general. If you want made in the usa name brand go with comp or precision imho. I made 650rwhp at 16psi with a billet 67, its rated to 950hp, and it spooled 1000rpms sooner than the cast wheel 67 I had before, both journal bearing turbos.
