Big HP street car's. What tires

What tires are you guys making 700+ running on the streets?
I would really like to put a set of True Forged rims on the car but am doubting I will be able to hook
93 cobra, stock wheel tubs, fenders rolled, quad's removed, UCA/LCA(I know I should be running coil overs)
My car is an auto and I have an eboost2 so I can set up boot by gear but I would like to be able to plant all the power.
I am thinking I will have to run some wrinkle walls to hook 700 before 60mph.

I'm just a little dog(only 510 wheel), but the best street tires I've had so far are the Toyo TQ's. My car will hook in any gear as long as the car is moving. Even a low roll in 1st gear. And my suspension is more road race than drag race. I'm running 275/40/17's.

I have had multiple sets of Hoosiers and just switched to the new MT drag radial. I never turn the boost up beyond 650 or so rwhp on the street. The new tires hook quite a bit better then Hoosiers.

The 295's would be my choice if I had mini tubs.

My 26x11.5x15" Hoosiers still spin from a 1st gear roll on the street with Nitrous, but they do well @ the track. I have some 295/35/18's BFG KDW II's on it for street duty but im not sure what i will go to once they are shot. Possibly the Hoosier low profile DR's.

in my blower car the MT Drag Radials were by far the best. (at 650rwhp)

The nittos didnt hook worth a crap. FWIW I have not tried the hoosiers, but with 3:55s the 17" (P275/40R-17) MT by 2nd gear, I was hooked and off to showing by license plate to whoever.

It was like the HARDER they spun in first, the better the hooked in 2nd. You could almost feel them heating and hooking.

I've run the MT's and the BFG's and I prefer the BFG's they seem to hook better for me. The MT's lasted a bit longer though.

I'm not a magazine racer, my car is actually fast.
I also have a Honda civic but, mine has a bigger, uglier driver.

Sweet. You go from a dig at all? I have a lot of friends with bikes and want to run with some of them. Just wondering if Ill hook from a 40roll, but trying to figure out if it will hook when something rolls up at a stoplight.

FYI....There isn't any small tire car that's going to hook up out of the hole on the street with 700hp....Just so ya know....My car runs low 10's (don't care about pumped up RWHP numbers)..My car doesn't hook at all out of the hole on the street with MT 275x60x15 drag radials. Fries the tires off like a top fuel dragster...

95gt Dart block 363, TEA 205 Heads. 78MM Turdblower Custom cam, All fab work done by me....Moates tuned by me, AODE done up, yep I got overdrive. Drag radials, 327 rear. Next setup to come over winter...lol

You don't street race much. There are plenty of cars that do. Most people are not willing to drive on the street with a full drag suspension car. Some are.

I do not have the suspension to dead hook on the street the power I will be making. So I bought an Eboost2 and a TH400. That should help a lot. Just wanting opinions on tires.

Well, you would obviously be better off with a 28 inch tire than a 26 inch tire.

I would think a good set of drag radials would do wonders.

Also that auto should help a lot.

For me only Hoosier 28x14.5x15 quick time pro hooks really well. Normal street tires won't cut it, im spinning them at over 120 in freeway. Btw quick time pro is DOT approve tires

I am hoping so lol.
2002GT The 14.5 seems excessive for that small of a rim. Does the outside 1" of the tire even touch the ground? I am guessing if you air them down a lot they might.
O and do you dead hook on the street?

If your talking about dead hook on the street. Not going to happen with that power especially off a trans break letting it rip out of the hole. Now if you have a spot on the street with a lot of "street racing rubber" and some ET streets or straight up slicks will be better but will still spin just not as much as Drag radials. Overall probably your best bet will be ET streets.

Have you ever made a track pass after the guy before you bumped dirt or sand on it? Thats about the same the streets.
A well prepped street is different.

big hp cars run from a roll on a concrete bridge. These are LS cars but much faster than mid 9s

Only at track dead hook to 1.47 60', street driving have to paddle to make it hook . As for the tires even hoosier quick time is 14.5 but contact path is 12", all 12" touch the ground.
