Another On3 flex failure! Check your flex's!

I've had my kit approximately two years or so, and last year I noticed my car being a bit down on power and real laggy building boost, but I think it just slowly got worse over the 2 years. I've seen the threads on here about the flex pipes going bad and imploding and had a sneaking suspicion that it had happened to mine. I was right. I finally got off my ass and decided to pull it apart and this is what I found. Sorry the pic is after I cut the old flex out, but you can clearly see this might be causing a restriction.

Here I snapped a picture of the new flex that I obtained from detroit flexible metals. Much higher quality piece. I highly suggest anyone getting this lined flex pipe, so that you cant have the same thing happed to the new one.

Car is a completely different animal again. I realize now how much of a restriction that was causing. On3 really needs to address this issue if they havnt already..

What is the definition of good? Are they lined with the corregated tubing or are they just said to be 'of higher quality' lol

Ur funny. So they used crappy flex pipes in the earlier kits. Apparently the issue has been addressed. It seems other companies have used the same flex and had it fail. I had most of my hot side ripped apart and check all the welds. No leaks, no cracks. I was bummed about the flex but that isnt a make or break it deal for buying the kit. I'm not bashing On3 in this thread just making sure other people with the earlier kits address the issue because more then likely the same this has happened and it does cause performance issues. I'm still running the base turbo, wastegate and BOV 2 years later and they have all been fllawless. The turbo doesnt even have any abnormal shaft play. I's say thats pretty good for a $1500 turbo system. my .02
