where is your exhaust leak?

I have one as well and it's on the hot side where the flanges connect to the flex pipe

Mine are at the v bands where the headers connect to the merge pipes and where the passenger side pipe connects to the merge pipe by the flex coupler so all three of my v bands are leaking basically

St. Paul area. Im hoping to get my exhaust welded or fixed I think that fitment is just a little bit tough so its twisting and bending my hot side not allowing my vbands to work correctly or my v bands are just crap but people tell me that you shouldnt have to copper rtv v bands which I guess I didnt know I just did anyways and it blew all the rtv out I also made 365/383 on 8lbs the week before but went back because my tru boost wasnt working right so i fixed it and got the boost to go up to 12lbs

yea im thinking it needs to be fitted a little better is all because theres a tension or stress thats causing the ends to not mate together quite perfectly in that case the vband will not seal properly

ok..so basically we have the same leaks..

I'm taking mine to exhaust shop and having them cut and weld on 3-bolt flanges so i don't have to deal with those clamps anymore...and I'm 100% sure will fix those leaks..

We're basically losing 1to1.5 pounds of boost from there

Have you tried repositioning them and tightening the v bands back down? I was going to cut the merge pipe behind the flange then mate the flanges together with the v bands
And re weld it from there and then the v bands should seal properly

So you want me to drive clear to nc to see your chinese special blow a clamp out while your next to me at the strip? Dont think so. Maybe if you had a quality kit I might think about it.

No brand loyality here. When i bought a kit going on 7 yrs now there wasnt much of a selection. Now there is and guaranteed chinese specials are not one of them.

Damn yea I was gonna try to reposition my stuff but maybe I'll just have it welded and be done. By the way I LIKE my ON3 kit and have had no problems getting a hold of them or getting what I need from them call them by Monday I have it by Wednesday thanks ON3 for providing me with something fun and affordable and gets me the most HP per dollar and an exhaust leak is the least if my problems if you can put the kit in you can fix an exhaust leak

To be fair, this seems to be a recurring theme on different brand kits, when comparing 5.0 & 4.6 kits from the same company.

For example (and when referring to 5.0, we are talking fox, because sn95 5.0 cars are another ball of wax)

On3 5.0 kits = alot of people happy, pretty simple, and work
On3 4.6 kits = exhaust leaks, and slow spooling (on the old kits anyway)

PonyDown 5.0 kits = alot of people happy, pretty simple, and work, there is that whole "ripping everybody off lately thing" also
Ponydown 4.6 kits = retarded design, NOBODY has ever recommended them, there is that whole "ripping everybody off lately thing" also

BG 5.0 Kits = alot of people happy, pretty simple, and work
BG 4.6 Kits = nobody seems to be running them, is he even making them anymore?

HP 5.0 Kits = pretty basic, if they actually send you the item, they seem to work well, and appear easy to change plugs on the passenger side?
HP 4.6 Kits = make alot of power, spool quickly, ridiculously expensive, have oil drainage issues from hell though, which causes smoke on decel at best, and blown turbo seals at worst, this is all if you actually get the items you ordered

4.6 kits always seem to be doomed compared to their 5.0 brethren.
