what is the diffrence between a blow thru maf and others. im on jegs looking at diffrent maf's and i dont see any that are blow thru ones

any maf can be blow thru per say.. it gets tweaked/adjusted for in the tune

So what if I got something like the moats quarterhorse could I possibly tune the stock maf?

yes.. but there is a bit of a learning curve... depending on your mods you might be outflowing the stock maf already..

I have no mods done to the motor its just a stock 5.0. What if I used a ford lightning maf would that work because there a little more cheaper?

first, you'd have to cut cut off the stock pigtail and put in the Lmaf as they are different.. though there is someone out there that makes a jumper harness...

one benefit is that if you decide to jump into the world of tuning, this seems like a good way to start... little steps and you get comfortable with the software.etc..
