If u have a big enough drain u wont need a restrictor......at least thats what the general consensus is.

What weight oil do u use? 10w30 or 10w40?
What size is ur drain line? Hole in pan?

I dunno if this works in a -4 line but could use a pen cap. Done it before but not sure what the line size was. Is at least a free way to experiment and see if that truly is what you need. Some people use old nitrous jets as well.

I use a -3 line with a ebay oil flange with the restrictor built in and a -10 return. car smoke slightly when I first hammer it on hard acceleration (just a few seconds) but I believe thats my piston rings not turbo oil. LOL car did it before turbo install.

below are some link to some kits similar to the one I use.

I was thinking to do the same thing and I called Precision and they said not to do it. IIRC they said that with journal bearing turbos there is no need.
