Boost timing

Dont know if this belongs in Electrical or here, but its Turbo specific. When I get this car built will a custom tuned chip pull timing, or do I need a BTM ignition(are they old tech?) Not really looking to buy a $400 ignition if I dont have to.

10# max boost, but prob. 8 0r 9# if that makes any difference to the answer.

Shout out your ignition combo!

Edit* looks like I answered my own question by searching "ignition" in this forum...amazing how it works. So it seems a tune for the EEC will handle the timing unless its extreme triple retards and stuff. I see a few running Digital 6 with no timing adjustments aside from a tune. Still feel free to comment! Thanks

A chip is capable of pulling timing out. However timining being pulled is specific to load and rpms. Where a BTM sense's actual boost an pulls accordingly. I only use my chip to pull timing at this point.

An aftermarket ignition or BTM will not be necessary if you get a tune.
