Fair price for dyno tune

Just wondering what everyone has paid for a dyno tune? I found a guy locally that charges $450 and didn't know if thats about average or not.

I paid $150 for an N/A tune and a nitrous tune with dyno time. I already had the Diablo chip and switch.. I most recently paid $250 to tune my turbo setup with a ton of dyno time.

Both times I went in and got tuned were all with dyno time included. Average dyno fee's around here are $50. for 3 pulls with wideband

I can get 3 pulls for $50 if I can get 8+ guys together for a group discount.

I always look at this based on time....If you are tying up the dyno it doesn't matter why, you are keeping it from making money.

I think $300 1/2 day, $500-$600 full day is reasonable, especially if you are getting skilled tuning help. It is the car owner's problem to make sure the car is ready. If you are organized you may make a number of pulls and get the job done in a 1/2 day, if the car isn't ready you may make one, have to fix things and not make really good use of the day. That isn't the tuner's problem.

Many of the experienced tuners are more then that becuase they use someone else's dyno, so you are paying for the dyno time + the tuner's time.

Maybe it is just me, but why screw around on the dyno if you don't really need tuning help. Who cares how much power it makes, go to the track and see what it runs.

What part of VA r u in? I'm in SC now but plan on getting back to Hampton Roads in a couple years, and by then I'll have some mods that deserve a good SCT chip tune.
