Are front and rear o2's different???

i just installed a turbo kit and my front pass. side o2 got snaped off some how. just wondering if i could use one of the rear o2's. i have it in there now. seems to be working ok. but havent tuned the car yet. thanks brett

they are the same on 99-04 cars....

thank you sir. i thought so.. because they looked exactly the same. the only difference is length of wire i believe..

i've got a 00' and my tuner (PSI) said they are different

Not sure where you get your info, but this is straight from ford. Why would they make the front ones green and the rear ones purple if they were the same? You have to shave off a tab for the rears to fit the front connectors too. All the rears do is check and see if the cat is working properly, the fronts give feedback to the ecu.

I was at Advanced the other day and they said they have the same part numbers as well. So I used them in my notch and never had any issues and looking at the o2's when it was being tuned it looked normal

I believe it was Bosche o2's that we were looking at

update--- when i took my car to the ford dealer. the front and rear o2 ARE THE SAME!! the rears are to check to see if cats are working, yes. but if you plug those exact same sensors in the front, they will respond to your pcm. i have my car tuned with the rears in the front. and nothing has changed. the only difference in the part numbers is the length of wire of the o2, thats it. but thank you all that already new, so now we all know. thanks brett
