Thinking of going turbo.....talk me into it?

I am looking @ the On 3 and Boost bros kits. I have a 96 cobra convertible with the factory K member still on the car. I have purchased a new k member from UPR, will these turbo kits work with it? I have heard that the bracing required on a vert makes it nearly impossible to route the turbo piping. Anyone out there with a 4 valve vert running a turbo? I understand the on 3 kits use the factory exhaust manifolds??? Do these kits sell with a ball bearing turbo or can they be upgraded to one??? My car has the supporting mods (fuel system, built motor) so how much power/tq could i expect to see running say 15psi??? I am running 9:1ish compression with lightly ported b heads, imrc deletes, stock intake, 60lb injectors and not sure what maf i would use if i went turbo. At what rpm would max boost be reached??? Is anyone running their car without a front mount air to air cooler and running meth injection only??? Any input would be appreciated and thanks .

Noooo. It's horrible. Running a good street gear, pulling wheels up, and smoking the tires at 60 mph. Why do you need that much power ?

If you want to spin tire even at 120 then get turbo. On3 kit FTW, not nutt swinging on3, just talking from experience !!

I have a boost bros kit. Theres a couple minor fitment issues but nothing you shouldn't be able to handle. After you experience a turbo youll never build an na setup again.

My current set-up is 3.73 gears, an S-trim pullied for 15psi and an NX Express Proton wet kit that i have not ran yet...... I have it jetted for a 70 shot and possibly go up to a 100 shot. I will be running the nitrous off an rpm switch set at 3800rpm. I went with the nitrous to boost the power down low. Damn centri blower only makes like 6-7psi down in this rpm range. What makes more sense to you guys, this set-up or just ditch it all and go turbo??? If i was running a 3.31-3.45ish gear where would i reach max boost with the turbo kit? I would want to boost to 15-18psi.

Thanks guys

Blower and nx is a good power adder you got there. Blower and 3.73 gear or 4.10 gear will work well for you. If you go turbo then 3.27 gear with tall tire will make it monster , why 18 psi go 20 and never look back. With my built 5.0l stroker with t70 .96 exhaust housing still full spool at 4k rpm with 3.73 gear but most 1-3 gear are useless. Some time soon to go back 3.27 and 28" tire , it should be fun as I can ride boost from 3k to 7k Now my boost comes in about 5 psi at 3k rpm and full to 4k but when boost hits cause of gear I have to shift even at 7k as 4-7k rpm goes way too fast with 20 psi and 3.73 gear.

Turbo vs centri w/ juice. Not sure I love my turbo, BUT the centri w/juice is pretty sweet as well. Both have alot of potential.

Well, i guess i'm stuck then..... I was going to just sell off the nx and blower for the turbo and then have it tuned. Looks like i will have it tuned for the blower and nx THEN make a decision lol......damnit! I will have the fuel system done by next weekend, so i have til then to make a decision. The only thing i don't like about the nx/blower combo is having to change tunes for the nx and the bottle will run out eventually......turbo will always be there ready for pedal mashing.....

21 psi is max for this turbo, turbo didn't want to go any higher .

enough to put a big s grin on your face every time you take the car out

the only thing i hate is that my turbo car is very quiet which causes lot of tools to think its stock although few have learned including a new GTR that is not
