Turbo without intercooler...Possible?

All of the kits seems to have an intercooler. But do you really need one for 6-10 lbs. of boost??? Superchargers don't have them at that level, why do turbos???
I would like to save time and complexity, and only want 400 RWHP. Is this possible??

Why would you not want to have an intercooler? They are cheap and help cool the air significantly, making it easier to tune and keeps the IAT down, and you want colder air coming into your intake.

You can, but it doesn't mean you should..

Really, they are cheap as dirt, and nothing looks cooler than a front mount behind your bumper.....

I came, I saw, I gave her a towel......

it can be done. really depends on the tuner.. if you dont have the room, or just dont want a a/a cooler mabey you could add a water meth kit..Then you can make all of the power you want to..

I have an LX and don't feel like cutting up my front bumper cover....also, could always add the intercooler later as funds allow....

dont need to cut up the bumper. turbos produce more heat than superchargers. youll need an intercooler if you plan to make any power

just how much power is attainable w/o an inter/aftercooler? I too like the idea of running meth 'cause of routing and space issues on my combo. Can the big number be run with meth instead of IC/AC??? my plans are 1200 RWHP with my TT 347 Dart motor.

The heat comes from compressing air, not turbo vs. supercharger. I would still run an intercooler.

to a point, but a turbo is going to make more heat from soak.

i'm running both and didn't have to cut up my lx bumper all that much. just some trimming on the drivers bottom side and that's with an icevex unit that's 3.5" thick.

Blow throughs require no intercooler, the fuel is introduced into the intake sooner and cools the charge. FI intercoolers are needed much more

X2 on the meth injection if you're going to skip the intercooler. Great thing about meth injection is it won't heat soak in traffic like an intercooler will. Still...my vote would be for both!
