New set up, what oil?

on3 kit with the mpt70mm turbo is broken in. I just did the explorer longblock set up with an ho cam. Just curious to see what oil would be best. I live in fl if it helps.

5/30 syn for everyday driving


Late 30's not so fat anymore white guy drivin a Turbo 5.0.....15 years TOO late

Sounds good, and yes it's just a dd with a turbo. Full synthetic I assume... what brands... any favorites?

Red Line or RP...some people say it sucks but no issues here !! As long as you change it a 3-5 K should be no issues!
The oil debate can go on for years..Stick with full-syn

Shell diesel truck oil. They now have synthetic blend and full synthetic.

Haven't bought oil just yet. I'm pretty much done buttoning the car up with the new motor. Ganna try and time it on sat and see how it is. Not sure if I'm going to use rotella. How much does it run? Besides finding a good weight I planned to just run mobile or something.

The synthetic rotella is way cheaper than any of the other synthetics out there. I run it in powerstroke, 460BB truck. Turbo 331 motor.

what's the big deal with this rotella stufff... i'm assumign it can handle the high temps of a turbo system?

also, do most truck supply places have it?
