Optimal BOV location in intake track?

What is the optimal BOV location in the intake track? For some reason I got the idea in my head that having the BOV before the intercooler would be good since you would be venting the hot air prior to cooling preventing extra heat loading of the Intercooler. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

yes between the turbo and intercooler is the best becuase of the reasons you mentioned in addition to keepin it further away from the mass air sensor.

I put mine after the mass air meter on the throttlebody side. Is this bad?? Will this cause a problem with my mass air sensor? Thanks

Yeah, I have one on each side of the intercooler inlets. Any turbulence will be dampened by going thru the ic

"One to each side" as in two BOVs?

I do believe that is what he is saying. I am assuming twin turbos and a 2 inlet 1 outlet intercooler. He's gonna put a BOV right before each inlet.

That is correct.
There is an inlet on each side of the IC at the bottom and one outlet on the Pside at the top. So a bov goes between each turbo outlet and the inlet of the ic on on each side.

You are dumping that air to the atmosphere right? If so you are reducing the amount of metered air that is going to the engine when you open the throttle plate which would cause a rich condition. Not ideal IMHO. You are better off to put the BOV before the MAF meter.
