can vacuum brake booster check valve handle boost?

or am I missing something like an external plumbing change to prevent such an issue? I'm talking like 15#. Plus, what keeps it from popping out of the grommet on the booster?

Yea they take it just fine...and the reason they don't pop off is because there isn't any boost on the other side of the check valve trying to pop it off. All the boost stops at the actual valve...if anything the rubber hose going to the check valve would pop off. Thats why everyone recommends you zip tie all your rubber vacuum hoses so they don't blow off. Hope that helps!

that really does help.... and now it makes sense why the check valve doesn't blow off. I should have thought a little harder on that one.
thanks

I have a dumb question, does the booster actually hold vacuum? Mine won't when tested with a mity-vac. But I seem to remember testing the one on my old truck and it held vacuum fine?

Yes they are supposed to hold vacuum...a small leak may not be a problem. But a big leak would render the booster pretty much useless...not to mention having a vacuum leak that could cause all kinds of driveability issues.

Yeah, I kinda figured that would be the answer. Now the question, should I install the hydroboost setup I have or just get the 93 cobra spec booster? Oh boy.
