On3 Performance 3v Dyno Thread

Hey guys!! I finally got my car tuned but i wanted to keep the dyno stuff separate from the build stuff because the build thread will pretty much never end. Here are 2 videos from the dyno session yesterday / last night! I have to wait until i get to work in the morning for the dyno graph though

Enjoy!!

Damn it i just remembered that on this pass i went to the screen to show the numbers. 504hp/510tq, 14 degrees total timing, 10psi, 11.5 A/F ratio. I will post up a good scan of the graph and also a comparison to what the car did stock....well, stock ish....it had an intake and exhaust.

Good #'s man. I think so long as the tune is good it should live a while. My buddies 3v made over 500 for over a year on a stock 3v before it ever let go and he beat the living crap out of it and was street racing it all the time. He goes by Paydirt on S197. I have convinced him to turbo that thing now.

Pretty conservative. Can probably take a bit more timing.

I would've been happy with 450rwhp so i'm going to keep 500 and be happy! I don't want to blow #### up so i'm going to keep it nice and safe but still making big steam. I'm going to add water meth on top of it as well to make it even more safe.

it can def take more timing, probally 18-19 on water meth. but i've seen to many s197 motor blow. stock saleens included. if shaun wants to get risky, water meth, an 16 degrees. leave it there. even then, the motor might last a season if he goes to the track alot. just my opinion.

I don't like using Meth to increase timing. I know thats how you make more power with it, but I think it should be used as a safety cushion in case you get the odd tank of bad gas or something like that. I don't like the idea of using meth to add timing. Seen a few S197's and a LOT of WRX's/STI's blow up because they relied to on Meth to make more power. One part gives up in your meth kit and your motor is toast. I'm not risking my motor on a Meth/water/eth injection pump or system.

My system sprays before my IAT sensor...so if the meth quits spraying or never starts spraying for some reason. The computer see's the increased IAT's and automatically pulls the timing Works like a charm...had a 2yr old Snow pump give up on me on back when I was still on my stock bottom end 2V. I knew something wasn't right cuz the car lost about 75hp when the computer pulled a boat load of timing. No pinging or anything...just no power. Replaced the pump and was back to hauling ass

Huh.... Sounds like a good deal. I didn't think spraying meth before the sensor was good for the sensor? I've never seen it setup that way so I don't know though.

On the S197's, as far as i know, the IAT sensor is located in the MAF housing. I could be wrong but i thought that is where it read it. That being the case, i am sure the MAF portion of that sensor would not enjoy getting sprayed with water and meth i am going to add the water meth kit just to be more safe, i don't plan on running more timing. 500hp is good enough for me. I told my tuner that my goal was 450, and i well exceeded that.

Everything since 2002 has the IAT built into the MAF...all you need is a threaded Lightning IAT and then you cut the IAT wires from the MAF harness and solder them onto the pigtail for the Lightning IAT. Drill and tap your charge pipe after the MAF as close to the TB as possible. Then you install your meth nozzle in between the MAF and the IAT Problem solved

Spraying meth on a plastic IAT sensor has no ill effects at all...some people say don't spray anything much less meth through a MAF though. This seems to be one of those agree to disagree things. My tuner said not to spray anything through the MAF so I don't...as far as a IAT sensor Spray Away

Thats where I was going... I'm going to have the MAF located after the intercooler. So I don't have to run a seperate IAT sensor. But, I understand what your saying. I just don't think I would spray through mine.

Either way if Lowvez. just uses it for a saftey factor it won't matter anyway. Also, either way, he made grade power! Grats! I'll be talking to Amped speed in a few weeks to order myself a kit. Unless I find a used PH or Hellion kit for a decent price in the mean time.

Just got it back from the track tonight! I only got 3 runs out of it because i stripped one of the compressor housing bolts when i threaded the bolt into it to secure the bracket to it. I should have screwed the bracket into and then screwed it onto the valve cover. I did it the wrong way round and now i have to fix it with a helicoil. With some help of course, i have not dealt with those before...Anywho here is what i remember from my best pass:

60' 2.0
1/8 MPH was 89 i believe but i forget the 1/8 ET
1000' 10.67
1/4 12.6
115MPH

Not, too bad, that was on Nitto NT555's launching around 3 grand while feathering the clutch, i just gotta get used to what i can throw at it before the tires break loose. Fix turbo bolt then back to having fun!

Hahaha yeah i know about dropping the pressures. I just didn't want to bother messing around with that too much cause we were only planning on making a few passes. If i was there without her, and my bolt didn't strip out, i woulda been there all night and probably messed around with some stuff. Sorry i didn't make it in this morning, i was so friggin tired man!
