Retarding stock cam with turbo? Who is?

Stock cam with 1.7's and a turbo. What are most of y'all doing with the stock cam? Installing straight up or retarding it? Thanks in advance. And if you can explain why that would be great.

Only reason you do it is to move some of the power up in the band. We used to do it with any car that had a stock cam and 1.7s regardless of power adder or if a power adder was even there.

my stocker was striaght-up with 1.7's, powerband for street was awsome, but at the track I was shifting at like 5200 as it ran out up top, only benifit to it was the stock block stayed together longer with out the big revs.
I'd do it agian in a heartbeat!
diesel like torque.

I was able to find an F cam fairly local for $100 so I think I'll go with that. I plan to shut it down between 5500-5800 and limit the power to about 550. I was making 530+ with my blower without any issues on my old 306 so I'm hoping the turbo puts even less stress on the block.

Hell I run mine to 6400rpms. I figure stock redline was 6250.

Maybe the stock rev limiter but that's also in a car that's making maybe 200whp from the factory. I'm pretty confident I can still hit 550 without taking the thing to even 6000 rpms.
