Looking to make more power!

Guys been running my same set up for over a year now on 10lbs. Looking to really turn it up a bit. I'd like to make 500 to the wheels on 110 octane. What needs to be done in order to turn up the boost and what gains do you think I will see from switch from 10-14 lbs?

I know I need the Blue (14) spring for my wastegate, what about the BOV?

Anyone got a 14lb spring laying around for a TIAL 38mm?

Do u have a boost controller? If so u don't need the 14lb wastegate spring all that does is that's the lowest level boost u can run... Usually on a 10lb wastegate spring u can run around 20lbs of boost.... For example: i had a built eagle talon with the 38mm tial wastegate... Had a 12lb spring... My boost controller was an electronic greddy... My low boost setting was 12 highboost was 21... Never saw boost creep just tightned my BOV screw....

Put some real heads on the car and you'll get what you want.

Precision 67mm turbo, this and that.

Just turn it up via a manual boost controller and have it retuned. You can make 500 easy on pump gas.

I have a 110 octane tune which is around 21 deg timing. How much boost would you guys throw at it?

How much HP will I pick up from adding 4lbs of boost?

How much would removing the small K&N air filter help? I heard up to 25HP? Is this accurate?

Put a 10-12" air filter on the turbo
Swap out to 1bar spring (14.7psi)
Re-tune

Done

How much HP per lb of boost do you think it will make?

Yea, I sensed the sarcasm! If I had the money I'd just drop a set of TF Heads on it. But, being as I'm broke I'm looking for the cheapest gains possible. I'm guessing I will make around 460-480 @ 14lbs.

Or, I could add meth and shoot for 20lbs? Don't know of too many guys on here running that much boost.

are you still running 122mph and 12's? thats enough to run 10's. why dont you keep that engine in one piece and work on the suspension? you have the power.

No, have not been back. I am in need of front coil overs. The front Mach 1 springs I cut killed my 60's. Been roll racing from time to time. Don't drive the car that all that much anymore.

I have Maximum Lower adjustables, Baseline uppers and adj shocks. Putting off track for the time being. Right now I'm looking to run from a roll. 430 feels slow so its time to up the boost.

Check out my link for more info on the setup..

My Car Made 408whp 424ftlbs @ 8psi. 93octane with stock e7 heads & stock cam.. Lifted a head & popped a gasket on the first day. I blame the thin deck on the iron heads.

I switched to thick deck aluminum heads and a different cam while i was in there and went back on the dyno..

My Car Made 529whp 474ftlbs @ 13psi. 110octane with AFR185's & F cam

To make more power just up the boost and keep an eye on your a/f ratio.

Yeah I run 14lbs and beat the dog snot out of my car, for the past few years now.

Considering upping it some more while it's on the dyno - maybe 16lbs or so.

Would I be wasting my time porting the GT40's? Going to be awhile before I can afford decent heads.

Yes that would be a waste. Just save your money for some alum heads. For now just up the boost alittle and have fun.
