Turbo oil drain

What size hose should I run for oil return for turbo? It's got a huge hose on it now but not sure what size really needed? I know my vortech used a 3/8 hose

most people seem to run 1/2", but 3/8 would probably work.

better to go big so no worries on drain backing up though
