Head Gasket Recommendation?

I had this thing on the road for 1 day before it popped a head gasket.
Now, Im switching cylinder heads from stock E7's to AFR185's.

If i understand correctly, the Cometic head gaskets dont quite seal properly on undecked surfaces? Is this correct?

I would like to know which head gaskets would be best for my application.

Also, can you guys help me with some Cam Recommendations? I'd like to do a cam while its apart.

And.. Can i use the same style spark plug with the AFR heads?

Well, after doing some research.. Most people on the forum are saying to use the Felpro 9333 gaskets.
Thats what i was using. I guess the blame is going 100% to the stock iron heads.
I hope that the AFR's .750" Deck and a new set of Felpro 9333's will do the trick.

We will see.

Im going to have Kurgan re-tune it.. maybe even throw a couple more pounds of boost at it? It made 408whp @ 8psi, stock heads, stock cam.
What do you think i can get out of it with a set of AFR 185's and a cam @ 8psi? 10psi?

what do you guys think?

alot of my friends like fel pro mls, if you go that route, when i was supercharged, i sanded the deck surface to help with sealing, a ford f303 is a very good cam for that set up, you will need new plugs, i ran ngk fr5's on a NA car, ask your tuner what to use, good luck

x2

although for your setup i would keep the stock cam with 1.7s, and maybe retard it by 2 degrees if at all. other than that start saving money for a stronger trans.

I've had good luck with the Ford Racing graphite head gaskets. They appear to be made by FelPro, does anyone know the FelPro part number?

why are you upping your exhaust to 3.5" after your 3" downpipe?

you do realize that you're gaining absolutely nothing by doing that, waste of time and money, and that 3"dp is more than enough for your setup. i would focus your efforts more on the intake (need a long runner), gears (need less), tranny (bye bye T5 with the torque of a turbo setup) unless you stick to a standard aka non drag radial aka no traction type of tires. pk
