Thumbs up So what do you think of my combo???

3200 lb 92 LX with 10-point cage and full drag suspension, but mostly a street car actually: 4-bolt 331, Vic JR heads, Vic 5.0 intake, 70mm TB, twin pump 1100 hp fuel system, 42 lb injectors (I know, I know...too small, but I've already run 9.90s with 42s in the past with the same car with a 2-bolt 306 and smaller H/C/I and 66 mm turbo), BG Custom turbo kit with 70mm turbo w/ single 3.5" Ultraflow dumped, 3.73 gears (I know...too much gear...3.27s are going in soon), PA Super Comp C-4 and 3200 convertor, transbrake.

Any thoughts on what it might run? I'm hoping for 9.90s again with the 42s and then 9.50s with 60 lb injectors and a chip tune next spring.

3.27s and 60s NOW.

Why go for 9.90s and then have to re-tune and all that ####?

Just swap it now, tune it and go for 9.00s.

Precision 67mm turbo, this and that.

Everything looks okay to me. I would have probably went with a mp 76mm turbo but the 70 will still work good. I would be very careful with those 42lb injectors maxing out.

I like your thinking!!!

I'm out of cash for this year though, so I will just lock the total timing at 18-20 degrees and watch my wide band and adjust the fuel pressure to get the car running with about 10 psi. I'll upgrade next year and get the tune, hopefully.

My car has been down for a while so even 10.90s would feel like a rocket ship!! LOL! Actually, I'm thinking the car should run 10.50s with traction and just 8 psi...my car did have a T-trim on it with 9 psi this past Spring and it went 10.80s with no tune right off the trailer, so 10.50s shouldn't be too hard for this year...should be enough to piss off all LS1 guys around here.

Good idea!

Run a 4 bolt main 302 and run no tune with a turbo!!!!

Put down a set of new pistons and head gaskets for next spring along with the injectors and tune !!! lol

Precision 67mm turbo, this and that.

Nahhh! 42s will go alot farther than people think...all the dyno tuners have everyone brainwashed into thinking they need a tune and huge injectors...while a tune is very nice, it's not a necessity IMO as long as you keep everything in check (air/fuel, timing, boost). You have to be realistic also...42s won't cut it if you are after 700 + rwhp, but they will put down 550 at the wheels all day long without maxing (it will be close) the injector duty cycle with modest boost and a HUGE fuel system.

I ran a 2-bolt 306 with 42s and a T-66 for almost 5 years before I had to rebuild it. I have never had a chip tune or any type of DFI.

OK, I'm done with my "old school" tuning sermon. I am going to run 60s and get it tuned next Spring for more power...hopefully 600 rwhp on pump gas and mid 9s at the track.

We'll see.

Ahaha! Yeah, no kidding! I'm going to try to keep this combo together for a while for once.

That is some awesome power with the Novi! Right on...now take it to the track and run some 9s!!!
