Question Anyone running BG CUSTOM TURBO foxbody hotside on Edelbrock Vic JR heads: exhaust sea

I just picked up a set of Vic JR heads for my 331. I have a B&G entry level turbo kit for the car. The exhaust ports on the heads are 1.4" square, but the headers flanges are 1.25" x 1.48" (approximately). My fear is that there will not be enough material to seal the header to the head. There will only be about an 1/8"of contact on each side by the bolt holes to seal the headers. Will this be enough? I plan on using Copper High-Temp RTV only at this point because I figure that this will give me the best chance of creating a seal that will last.

Please let me know your experiences with this.

I think you will be fine but why not call BG and ask him since he has sold so many of those kits you would imagine he has had a customer who has BTDT and passed on the experience(if it was bad at least).

I did call a few weeks ago and they didn't seem to have any concrete opinions on it one way or the other. I did get some feedback on TM which was optimistic, so I will just give it a try and see what happens. I plan to let the RTV start to set a bit before I crank the bolts down. It must not take much material to seal because the Fel Pro header gasket for a Vic JR doesn have much material to it near the bolt holes.

I have a B&G twin kit with Vic Jrs and have had no sealing problems with either ultra copper or remflex gaskets

Good news! I don't feel as nervous now...I should be installing the turbo kit next week sometime.

I also am using Vic Jr heads and a B&G kit. Two years and no leaks so far. Just use good high-temp RTV and no gaskets.....
