compression?

What is the highest compression I can safely run? I have a long block with forged flat tops with 4 reliefs and 61cc chamber heads. thinking that would put me at about 9.5 to 1 or slightly higher. can i put a thicker head gasket on it and bring the compression down or would that be ok? I'm only going to run 10-12 psi max.

9.5:1 will be fine......Its ultimately going to depend on your tune and how close you get it .

9.5 will be fine for a street toy / weekend play ride that isnt going to see a lot of boost ( < 12lbs...) Just make sure the tune is good and you'll be fine. Run good gas.

They say what goes up must come down but I ain't reached my cruising altitude.
Take a look at what I did but can you imagine what I'm about to do.

9.5 is fine.

It's all in the tune .............
A good intercooler to lower air intake temps will help a LOT too.

It's not the boost, but the heat for the boost, that causes detonation.
