Upping the boost 4lbs , how much timing should I take out.

current .... stock motor , 62mm , 10psi and 93 oct gas ..... running at 22* total and in high gear it see 11.0 afr.

boost will be set at 14lbs with all other items remaining the same save for 110 octane....... would 18* be a safe place to start ?

im really trying to get 10.50's out of this thing

whats up man??

what are you tunning with ?? or are you running locked timing ??

Im still un-tuned running 8* spout IN , but Ive upped it to 14psi on 94 oct pump gas. I have NO clue the TOTAL timing tho lol

I think 18 MIGHT be a little low but better to start too low thwn too high lol HG's will thank you lol

Im running the timing locked out at 22* ... i took the car out last nite and it looks like it makes 13psi or so.

I left the timing the same and added 5lbs of fuel pressure , when i took the car out for a few brief high gear pull its was like 9.8 afr so i need to lean it out still.....kinda weird since i left the timing the same.

What is your target a/f? Is it still going to be 11.0?

The reason I asked why you're raising your fuel pressure is that your regulator should increase the fuel pressure automatically with each lb of boost. Cheers.

timing was left at about 21* on 93 octane and the afr stayed in the low 11's on the top end of the track.

not only that but the more boost will register in the MAF causing the injectors to richen aswell, assuming you have enough injector, base fuel pressure, and the MAF isnt pegged.

I used to hear that for every pound of boost, retard the motor 2 degrees. Not sure if this a good rule of thumb or what.

Thanks, Mike
