On the dyno tuesday.. Questions

Car is at the shop right now, had to work out soem cold start issues today so didn't get to run it so tuesday is the day.

What #'s should I be aiming for? I'd really love to hit 500 but it's through a C4 and it's 110 degrees in the summer here, so I'm thinking maybe I should just cap him off at 450 on 91 pump gas and be safe until it cools down and then try and run it for some bigger #'s. What do you guys think?

Car is a stock block H/C/I 70mm turbo car.

I would let the tuner handle it.

When I go to see my tuner I tell him what gas I want to use and how risky I want to be and he handles it. Hasnt failed me yet.

Been out of the game since 2011.. looking to get back in in 2019

It could make 350 hp on the dyno and run mid 10's!

Dont get caught up in the dyno numbers specially for an auto. I could only get mine to run 12.08 which to me is disapointing for 431 HP.

I had them tune for 93 octane then had them burn me a tune for some 110. Basically the 110 allows you to run more timing safely.

Stock block, GT40 heads, Explorer intake, 67mm, 10lbs, 431HP 497TQ on 110 octane. 12.01 @ 123

I made like 416 or something close to that on a dynojet - thru an AOD and the car runs [email protected]

12lbs boost and I only run 93 octane gas.

As posted above, don't get caught up in the final numbers - they can be very misleading. Get a safe tune on the car and throw the dyno sheet in the trash, head to the track and post those numbers.

1986 Mustang GT
306 E303, TEA 185 TW, Quicktime Turbo 67mm, Redneck C4 15lbs boost
525hp/626tq

Exactly who i was talking about, see I made more hp but my times are off a complete second and a half compared to Ratedz.

My favorite saying!

" I have never seen a dyno sheet win a race"

yes but your trap 117 mph... if I remember from your thread. 117 mph is good for a deep deep deep 11. You could even squeeze more mph in your 60' and go closer to tens.

Ok well it was 115 degrees when we started the dyno runs, and only could muster up 410whp on 12psi, due to the heat... We did about 5 runs and heat soaked it and it lost 50whp, let it sit for 30 mins came back and gained it back..

Stupid Arizona..

On a side note, the car will prob still have plenty of power to run a 10 at the track considering it has a built C4 with a brake.
