2.5" quiet catback, straight thrue muffler?

For a super sleeper sound on a fox GT, what are catback options with straight thru mufflers? I believe Dynomax UltraFlo and Magnaflow catbacks fit the bill, but are there any more? Maybe Borla, but they are pretty high $$$.

This would be going from 3.5" BG to the catback. I assume I'd need a 3.5" to 2.5" Y, and then maybe some more pipe to reach to the catback?

I have the Magnaflow catback, very quiet at idle. Almost too quiet! Opens up though when you stomp on it!

Exactly like my friends car. A little pricey, but they do rock

Aaron, don't be a dunghole I'm sure I told you of the time I took Flows off my old turbo ride back in the day and picked up fifteen hundred hp. Coulda been more, it was nuts.

You mean the car with that broke you financially? Wasn't that an 89 GT?

That's the whore. For some reason I can't get enough of 89 GT's.

Looks like Dynomax is having some $75 off till the end of next month which would make their catback about half price of the Magnaflow. That may be the winner there

A friend of mine has the Dynomax Ultraflow catback on his turbo 94.

One wouldnt know it makes a hair over 700rwhp with the way it sounds. Very quiet at idle and cruising speed.

I run the Pypes Violator 2.5" catback. The car sounds like a stock stang at idle and while driving. When I get on it all you here is the whistle from the turbo and woosh of the blow-off. I like it.

I won't make those ponies, but modest sleeper is the general idea

I too run pypes mufflers but I use a prorace set. They too are a straight thought muffler and much cheaper priced than the dynomax or magnaflows They are the same as the Violator muffs but with a different louvered tube insert for a quieter sound. On a scale 1 to 10 for sound the racepros are a 7 and the violators are a 9 they say.

Racepro

Violators

They are very quiet, maybe to quiet. I sometime think that because they replaced a set of flowmasters. At idle it sounds like a factory 5.0 but with a little bubble sound from the turbo, and at part throttle they are very mild with a throtty sound. What i like the most is they dont have any drone like the flows had a cruiseing speed. They are even mild a fullthrottle to the best I can tell before my wastegate opens, than I cant here them at all over the exhuast out the gate. I will be pyping that into the exshaust this winter.

I to really enjoy the full bennefits of hearing the turbo spool-up too. It also helps the cars nearby hear it to. I love see peoples faces when the see a standard mustang and than hear the spoolup, they smile as much as me half the time. I have also surprised a few willing racers with it, thinking I had a mild ride they could pick on. Love it!

I think that you can get it you would just have to call and request them to use the other muff's.

hooker max flows are some of the quietest at idle but open up to be nice and loud at WOT. They also flow really really well. Check em out...

Find the corral advertiser Artsparts. He hooked me up with a Pypes race pro catback for $299 shipped. The standard muffler Pypes puts in their catbacks are the violator ones. Those are loud. The race pros are quiet. I am running them on my 97GT. If you look in my gallery, there are pictures. Highly recommended.
