FINALLY! Putting my Cartech SS kit on this weekend!

Ah yes the weekend has come for me and a buddy to install my kit on my car. I am stoked to get it on!

SO, I just got my new Pioneer Balancer yesterday that I am going to put on the car, plenty of 15/40 oil to use, I ordered new two range colder Autolite race plugs for it gettin those tonight, got to get a bunch of high temp RTV while I am there...

I have to fab one pipe to convert the kit to a blow thru and convert my buddies pro-chamber to a y pipe for exhaust.

right now I have the following to put on:

Cartech SS kit w/ t64
60lb injectors
255lph HP pump
PMAS 3" blow thru cal'd
Pioneer Balancer
Tial Wastegate w/ 7lb spring

I am going to use my Pypes 2 1/2 catback and the 2 1/2 pro chamber with the 2 1/2 downpipe for exhaust.

MSD Digital 6, Wideband, boost gauge, and boost controller already on the car.

Other then loads of patience, what can you guys think of/recommend that I would need to try and make the install as smooth as possible?

Yessir it is. I can't wait to drive the thing after I get it tuned.

I have a Turbosmart two-stage manual/electronic boost controller that I am using and the tuner is going to burn me two tunes on the flip chip. So I get to flip two switches on my switch panel and toggle between the two. In theory of course. I am thinking of going with 8lbs on the low and 12lbs on the high but I don't know for sure.

Pictures to come later.

I agree. Ditch the chambers, pick up at straight through muffler. I have a hooker max flo. Love it. You want to eliminate as much back pressure as you can

Guys I think he is referring to a MAC Pro-Chamber off road cat pipe or mid pipe what ever you want to call it. It is not a muffler or a baffled compartment, simply an open box with two in/out holes.

It would actually make a good transition from a 3.5" DP and piping to his mufflers.

Exactly, Just gonna chop the drivers side tube off at the box, weld a plate where the hole used to be and I have a Y-pipe that mounts perfectly to my cat-back. I have Cartechs 2 1/2" downpipe so its all going to be 2 1/2" from the exhaust housing back.

I wanted to save some dollas so thats why I decided for this method. I also wanted to keep using my Pypes catback.

I cant get them to post up so you'll have to click on the link.

There is alot of transition before the MAF but it was the best we could do. My buddy had to get home but it still turned out great. I still need to get my new fuel pump in the car so no WOT runs yet. It doesn't idle worth a damn and is super quiet compared to before. Our MAC pro-chamber conversion worked pretty slick. Everything fit ok on the car. From the outside of the car other then seeing the intercooler it still looks stock.

Just driving the car not getting into boost it stays within range on the wideband A/F so thats good. My dipstick tube hole is spraying oil on my header on the drivers side. I also need to setup my PCV with the air/oil seperator I have and a new PCV valve I got.

I did dip into it a little driving home and it went lean real fast so no more after. I did see the boost building so thats good too.

I'm just glad to have everything on the car except for some small stuff.

That is a good looking car. Glad it all came together. At least you didn't have to move the ABS with your kit.

Looks like 60lb injectors, what you gonna do for a tune?

There is a place nearby that I am taking it to. They are going to burn me two tunes for pump gas on a flip chip. I can't decide what boost levels I want to run though. I'm thinkin I might go with 10lbs and 12lbs but I wouldnt mind running 14lbs if I can do it safely.

Updated bigger pics in the gallery and more of them.

I am going to try and get my pcv system worked out tonight after work. And bolt down my dipstick tube. Planning on doing the fuel pump at my buddies house Weds and then dropping the car off at the tune shop thursday night to get tuned on friday.

Well I got the PCV hooked up the same way as Millhouse's setup minus the pcv valve on the valve cover. Just hooked up from the nipple on the filler tube to the inlet side of the turbo with a air/oil separator in between. I also got my dipstick tube back in but broke the piece of metal off that holds it down. So now I need to order a replacement. Fuel pump tomorrow and tune on friday. I can't wait.
