Most people I have seen just have a small dump tube on it. I personally think that sounds like complete ass but that is just me. I have seen people put small mufflers on them even recall someone on here talking about making some small mufflers for theirs.

I just bought a $18 smallest I.D. glasspak from like autozone I believe.

Expanded the outlet and crushed in one end of the glasspak to take up the 1/4" difference.

You mean sounds like complete ass when they run an external vented w-gin the first place?in place of a recirculating one...or when you run one with a dump tube on it? (idk if people run one open w-g with no pipe at all)

Dumping it to atmosphere with a tube or not, sounds like a crappy exhaust leak to me more than anything else. It is just my opinion though, some people like it, I just prefer to have one that dumps back into the downpipe.

Mine dumps to atmosphere, very loud! Like Snipe says sounds like a big exhaust leak when in boost. I'd like to see how well the muffler idea works.

I was thinking about running this... I currently have a magnaflow bullet style muffler on my car. I cant tell if its the muffler or my wastegate dump but something sounds like a glass pack. Either way I still want to run the little muffler.

I've heard that running a Supertrapp style muffler causes too much backpressure and the wastegate will have trouble keeping the boost down. This is the reason I built one of my own, but I had creep issues also. I was trying to run something smaller than a full-sized glasspack. I'm gonna give mine shot just open with nothing on it first to see if that cures my creep issues and if so, probably fab a new setup using the 1-1/2" in and out glasspack running parallel to the crossover.

Which year/model? Because it is against Federal law to dump exhaust to atmosphere like that.

I don't have my kit mounted yet so idk where the wg exit is but might get this to rig the hot exhaust out of any harms way or to route it back to the downpipe in the future...

I'm not a welder so welding a pipe to dump my wastgate is not an option. Is there anything on the market that is flexible that would work? Some type of hose or something that withstand the heat?

I'm in the process of building a new muffler for mine now. It comes out of the wastegate and gets horizontal, then I've got a Thrush 1-3/4" glasspack (17" long) running horizontally just under the crossover. I should be able to post up some pics of it in the next couple of days.
