Need a new clutch for 550lb torque?

Well, my dual friction centerforce clutch I believe is already done after 900 miles.

It slips in 2nd/3rd pretty bad. Is there any possible chance the adjustment is just out? I did a stupid burnout and it seems its done now?

If so, what clutch should I get? Clutch to hold 550lbs of torque all day, I need a clutch that is a LIGHT pedal for my knee!

Thanks

Light pedal for your knee spells a twin to me but that is some major dough even if you know a dealer pretty well. I would suggest a spec 3+ but some say it is hard some say it isn't. When I ran mine it was pretty light to me. I believe it's all in the adjustment but they do have a harsher pressure plate. Maybe if you changed that out to maybe a KC or DF pressure plate and used their clutch it might work. Not sure. Good luck man.

And it might be your adjustment. Have you tried adjusting at the firewall and underneath of your car?

I put a Centerforce DFX clutch in my car. I used to have the dual friction but they have been known to not work well with turbo cars. I swapped it out when I installed the turbo kit.

I am on my 2nd season with the DFX and love it. Pedal pressure is light and it grabs awesome. I get no clutch chatter at all.

I got a clutch from Clutch Dynamics waiting on the stocker to let go first! If i ever figure out how to make my 2 step work it will be the end of the road for the stocker.

I used to run a ram 900 series. Great clutch, held the torque great pedal was alittle on the heavy side though. Make sure you get a nice billet flywheel also. Throw the dual frictions in the trash.

Would it be stupid to run the stock flywheel?

I'm running my stock 230k+ mile flywheel. Hell, they (Clutch Dynamics) are the ones that resurfaced it for me....nearly free of charge!

Stocker on mine too. Clutch dynamics recommends you to get it resurfaced if it is used.

I have had good luck so far with my Spec 3+. I only have 500 miles or so on it, but the pedal isn't bad, it doesn't chatter, and it holds everything I have thrown at it.

stock flywheel with fresh cut- thats what dan recommended from cd, talked to another mustang owner who was there, he had fox body w/this clutch/flywheel combo-he cautioned aginst billet(aluminum) and claimed stocker was best for cuttenrt app. btw my stock flywheel only had aboout 5k on it when it was resurfaced. as for centerfarce-i will not go back to it-

Some of that "farm equipment" are pulling tractors. One can just imagine their clutch requirements...

Awhile back someone stated that CD was working on a twin disc set up. Anyone have any new news on this? I have a Spec 3, still breaking it in, clutch pedal is a little on the hard side.
