Usually the 3.27 is preached here. I would say according to most experience that a 3.73 is even steep for a supercharger. I would go to at least 3.55 if not a 3.27. Thge 3.27 gets my vote. Good luck.

I am switching to the 3:27 gear. My 3:55 with almost identical combo puts me at around 5200-5500 rpm at the 1/4 in 4th. I think the 3:55 with the 2 step will alow me to run out 1st gear a little more which will help increase my 60' from a 1.85 to hopefully some 1.60's!

I think the 3:27 is definately better on the street for sure, the 3:55's make you have to shift to much. Oh im also running a 255/50/R16 M/T 26" tire

Stock block, GT40 heads, Explorer intake, 67mm, 10lbs, 431HP 497TQ on 110 octane. 12.01 @ 123

You must have thought like a 3.30 or something that would fit in a 9".. .maybe not. Although the difference between a 3.27 and a 3.31 is not worth breaking a sweat over in the least. Very little difference at all. About nil if that is better for you. Good luck. Take the free one. Test it out by turning it if you are unsure.

Oh and if you doubt your friend's car has this ratio according to Ford at least for this year it says:

The 2009 Shelby GT500 Coupe and Convertible feature an exterior and interior appearance designed to maintain its
leadership in the Sports Car segment. Additionally, with the increased performance provided by the supercharged
and intercooled 5.4L V8 and the SVT-tuned suspension, the 2009 Shelby GT500 continues to deliver the high
performance you expect from SVT.
The following equipment is standard as indicated:
Shelby GT500
Powertrain/Functional
• Axle – modified 8.8" live axle w/3.31:1 gear ratio & limited slip differential
• Brakes – power 4-wheel disc with ABS & Traction Control (Brembo Front Rotors and Calipers)
• Engine – supercharged 5.4L 4V V8 w/intercooler
• Rear window defroster
• Remote keyless entry
• Speed control – steering wheel-mounted
• Suspension – SVT-tuned front & rear w/unique dampers & springs for Coupe & Convertible
• Transmission – Tremec 6-speed manual
