Whats the deal?

With Blow through Carb setups with no intercoolers?

Both turbo and S/C.

The intercooler isn't absolutely necessary, it's more of a matter of preference.

Some guy use one, some don't or they use meth/water injection to cool the incoming air. Plus, the meth allows for more timing to be ran due to increase in octane.

Big power can still be made without an intercooler if the combo is right.

Some are on alky and can get away with it carb or not. The claim on gas is that when the air goes through the venturies it is cooled by the mixing of the fuel. Stone age technology but it does work on low hp combos.

Having built many carbureted ProCharged setups I can tell you carburetors and not limit to low horsepower setups. Heres a great example of a non-intercooled, carbureted pump gas setup running only water injection built by Steve Morris. Steve Morris is the man when it comes to building high horsepower blow through carb setups.

I consider Steve to be ahead of the pack on the carb stuff. He is good friend of mine and also built my BBF TT that also runs on alky. What I should have said is that there are no carb motors that have made as much as EFI motors. Our motor will probably make about 2800hp. No disrespect to carbs intended, it is just efi is best.
