Latest dyno with the turbo 89 LX vert

I posted over in the 5.0 tech forum but I guess I really should have put it here in the first place...

Made 577 rwhp/602 rwtq with about 15 psi of boost. Had 93 in the tank with a couple gallons of 100 for insurance. Spool is a little slow with the T-70,full boost about 3600-3700. A/F ratio is in the dumps since I swapped to the F303 cam. Pegged 10.0:1 rich on the wide band after 3500 rpms.

Original stock 79K mile bottom end
GT40 Y303 alum heads ported on the exhaust side by my father
F303 cam with 1.7 rockers
Holley Systemax intake
70mm Holley tb
PMAS 3" blowthrough maf
60 lb injectors
GSS340 255lph intank,GSL 392 255lph inline,stock chassis lines,Vortech fuel rails
SCT chip (done before with a different camshaft in it)
B+G turbo kit with a Precision T-70,3.5" downpipe,Y pipe to 2 1/2" and a Pypes Violator catback.

Yes,it's too much on a stock block. May last 3 (more)years or 3 months. Been boosted in one form or another for over 3 years. Taking donations for the "buy Billy a Dart block" fund.

SCT chip but it was done before the cam swap so the a/f's are way too rich now.
Before the cam swap it was 11.5:1 across the board. Think it was either 18 or 19 degrees of total timing with this much boost.

I know it'd pick up with a retune to get the a/f's back where they need to be but it's already making so much on the stock bottom end.

Billy is that a .81 exh housing? Seems like all the MP T-70's with .68's spool up quicker. It'd be interesting to see before and after dynos with an exh housing swap. If you don't do it, maybe I should haha

Nope...surprisingly its a .68 on a Precision T-70. Which actually it gives the tires a fighting chance to get hooked before it tries to blow them off, lol.

Tune has a lot to do with spool. It looks really rich, in the 10s. If it was closer to 12:1 while spooling it should help. Pulling timing too fast hurts too.

I understand what you're saying. It needs a retune since I did the cam swap. Really need a good 4 bolt main block before anything though.

Pro-Dyno in Ft Mill,SC. Just to make it clear, there was no tuning done on this dyno day. This is just what it ended up doing after I swapped the cam with no retune. Before this is was tuned by them and had a 11.5:1 a/f across the board.

Huh well then maybe the tune could play into it more. I've read guys with MP70's saying they get full boost around 2500. Maybe I didn't mess with the tunes enough, but I never got drastic spool up differences when I tuned my two old combos. But ya know I'd figure with your power you're blowing the tires off most of the time anyway

Had a Lunati 51014 218/226 @ .050,.500/.510 lift 112 lobe.
Good cam but not the best for a turbo setup.

Don't have any recent ones. I like it with the turbo setup. I also ran it when it was supercharged with long tubes and a X pipe. Was super loud like that.
With the turbo setup it's still fairly loud for a turbo car. I love hearing the turbo whistle through the exhaust though. Can hear the turbo whistle even during normal cruising. Sure don't have to worry about any restriction with the straight through design the Violator mufflers have.
I'll try to get some vids of it soon.
