I am thinking of getting one. Someone has to make a reasonably affordable turbo kit right???

This has gotta be the tenth thread I've seen about this damn kit. Everyone is pretty much saying it's junk, but who knows...

There seems to be some issues clearing the sway bar as well as some issues with the cross-over v-band flange. There also seems to be an issue with some of the header mounting thru-holes needing to be ground open due to alignment issues. Whether it’s a quality control or jig issue….well wait and see. My guess is it’s a combination of both.

Also be aware that there is no “real” warranty offered on these kits. Of course, for the price what do you expect. Give them a year or two and my guess is you’ll see a surge of on3 kit’s cracking and the cheaper turbo’s failing. Again, I suppose for those interested in kit’s in this price range….it may not be a big deal.

My advise however is to buy a decent quality kit the first time. Yes, it will cost a little bit more initially….but you’ll get a FAR better quality kit with a multi-year warranty on the entire hot/cold side. You’ll also get a better quality design, materials, workmanship, clamps, silicone, wastegates, BOV etc. It’s cheaper to do it right the first time than to buy cheap and upgrade when things start to fail.

There are already a few threads on the corral with builds….and there are a few more here : http://www.theturboforums.com/smf/index.php?board=31.0

http://www.theturboforums.com/smf/in...topic=122446.0

Here is one more….and it is NOT an actual on3 kit, but typical of what comes out of china. This is not an isolated incident…but has happened to many others with similar quality imported garbage. http://www.theturboforums.com/smf/in...topic=121736.0

If you can’t afford a new or used quality “MADE IN USA” turbo kit….my best advice would be to either “save” up until you can afford one….or buy a nitrous kit or low end supercharger.

That is funny after so much mud slinging over the years about China kits. I guess it is "justified" since it does not come with headers and instead uses the factory manifolds.

read the threads on the turbo forums, its a funny read. B&G is going to sell his own chinese kit just to put on3 out of business. The guy that runs on3 pissed him off something aweful, so he's having his own chinese kit made and selling it at cost.

If you want a cheap chinese kit, he mentioned probably having the piping shipped to his door for 250 for each kit. I would hold off until he starts selling his.
