Homemade boost controller?

I've heard of people making there own, and I think one thing used was a part from an air compressor? A pressure regulator or something? I figured I'd look into that since it's supposed to work fine and cost much less than aftermarket MBC's. Anyone got any info?

Thanks!

While it's not the type I'd read about, it should do the trick. Thanks!

Thanks for posting this! I was going to drop $50 on the one from boostvalve.com, but seeing as how this one is exactly the same, I'll be making a trip to Home Depot instead.

The pressure regulators are $18 from Home Depot.

Same ones in the "turbonetics" kit and they are in the air compressor section. Husky markets them.

You need to change out the spring though. The internal spring is very thick and strong! It is not precise with that spring. Home depot sell a box of misc springs and thats how i changed out mine. With a lighter spring you can turn it about 2 turns for a pound of boost.
