Which Turbo Kit?

#1 - Hellion
#2 - Spyder
#3 - B&G
#4 - THP

I own a 97GT 2V that's currently being built for boost. I wanna go turbo, but I just can't decide which route I should be looking at. I like the Spyder kit, but I can never get a hold of anyone there, and I've called and left countless messages. B&G also sounds like a great option, but the kit they have for my ride isn't complete and I'd have to have a fabricator build part of the cold side, AND buy my own blow-thru MAF. Then there's THP, who's kits look great but I've heard of people having problems with Jim's customer service. Last but not least, we've got Hellion's kit. It's the most expensive by FAR than any of the other kits, but it's the most complete, has the best build quality, and it would ship the same day I ordered it unlike ANY of the other three choices. Only problem, is that on top of it's outrageous price, I'd have to do a blow-thru conversion so make sure it runs properly. SOOOO, what I'm asking is for any of you 96-04 2V owners that either own, or are considering owning a turbo set-up, which way should I go and why? Thanks a lot....

If you are not lowered, you may want to check out Ponydown's kit which does not require a tubular k-member. I've hear the quality on his kit's is great, as is the customer service.

I've got a full MM front suspension, and H&R supersports in the rear right now. Does Ponydown's kit have clearance issues?

I believe the one they make is made to work with the stock k-member...in which case ground clearance is tight. With the stock ride-height I've heard it works, but with a lowered stang....not so much.

I'd say go with Hellion. You get what you pay for.

A lot of people have said that I would need to do a blow thru conversion to the hellion kit, is it really that difficult to tune a draw thru car?

i have a hellion kit on my 93 5.0, i know its not a 97 GT but i can tell you the customer service is awesome. My kit also came with everything, even all new header and accessory bolts. it was the first time i ever installed a turbo kit or even had a good look at a turbo for that matter lol, but it was fairly easy with very few problems and the fit and finish was really good. only downfall of the kit is the price, its a big dollar but you get what ya pay for. only thing i would change about the kit is the C&L meter, but i'm also running untuned so thats why it causes me problems. i hope this help with your decision. good luck with your build

I see nothing on their site in regarding modular kits. I tried to call, but the line has been busy for the last half hour...

I'm looking for a place that makes a complete 2V kit, all their work is custom I believe...
