well i bought my JY single kit back.......

How do i start haha

basicly i built this kit in 8hrs back in 2005, ran it for about 6 months and like a dumbass i decided to sell it and build a n2o 347(hence the name).

well the guy i sold it to ended up becoming a real real good friend, hell i lived with him for about 8months haha anyway, after selling it to him he made a few changes to better the kit and make it more effeincent.

so the point of this post it to show people what can be done on a cheap budget, im going to detail this build closely- the real major money items i have to my car would be the fuel system and the rear suspension. everything else on this ''new/old'' set up i have bought on the CHEAP

i built this WHOLE turbo kit for about $1200....

the motor set up and what not goes as follows:

Stock block
Stock pistons
Stock rods
Stock crank
E-303 cam
Iron version Windsor JR's- i bought these for $300
Holly Systmax intake- picked this up for $250
75mm TB- $50 dollar buy
42lbs injectors- these i bought new
Pmas MAF- also new

C-4 auto - bought this "used" $800- was in good shape but put about another $300 into a rebuild that i did myself

here are the pics of the kit back in '05- ill update this thread as progress comes-

ENJOY!!!!!

i think this is the dumbest idea i have ever seen, why would waste your time turboing a stock motor, to get good at changing head gaskets. why dont you just quit bull####ting around and build a real motor and make that car fast not just a money pit.

Just messin with you this summer is gonna be fun

Looks good.

Amazing what you can do with a $175 cut off saw, $300 mini-welder
and a set of flipped headers, uh ?

i love the HMT (homemadeturbo) style set-up, more pics.
also what turbo and managment are you running?
also i posted this in a other guys turbo post but it applies to you so here it is.

are you just running the stock headers?
is so what is the wall thickness of pipe pre turbo. i have built quit a few turbo manifolds for fwd 4 banger cars useing sch 40 pipe.

but i have seen a few set-ups (5.0 set-ups)online with what looks to be the stock headers flipped, and it looks like people just run regular exhaust pipe, for a uppipe to the turbo.?.?.?

i just would like to know who runs regular exhaust pipe for the manifold extentions, and fliped oem headers, cause i would think it would not hold up to the heat and and the turbo weight, and just crack rather quickly.
im not doubting that it can't be done or work, i just would like to know t he reliablity of a set-up with fliped oem headers or regular exhaust pipe wall thickness up pipe to turbo.
any input would be appreciated.

i have been out of the stang game for a while, 8-10 years, so if there is info about this please link me to it.
