Tapping for the oil feed

I recently broke in half the 3 inch pipe in half that went in to the oil passage in to the block.

the problem is I can only find 2-1/2 inch and 4 inch brass pipe thats threaded on both ends. Will 2-1/2 be long enought so the tee does not interfere with the block/oil filter? I know the 4 inch will but I'm worried about the threads breaking off in the block. Reason for that is because of the weight of the oil pressure senor, how long the brass pipe is, and all the weight resting on just those threads.
