there is no way i asked him a question just waiting on an ans so see what they say.

all i need is a small intercooler to support 450-500hp what is the smallest i can go with ? i dont care if it has 2.5 inlet and outlet.

It'll FLOW enough to support that power but it won't do it EFFICIENTLY!! I/C aren't usually a restriction to flow, its really about how efficient is the i/c at a given flow. I agree with you that it won't support that power level efficiently.

That "core" size would support 800hp, but NOT with the horizontal
tubing.

If the same size core with vertical tubing ( which would give it 3 times
as many channels to flow thru for same core dimn
) was used it would
support 800hp.

would this be enough for me for my setup lets say 450-500hp tops?

yep.

Also check out www.treadstoneperformance.com

They have nice "ebay" intercoolers for good prices.
When I got one from them I was very surprised on how nice the
welds and quality was for the price.

If you can find one with vertical chnls, it will be more efficient
in flowing air since it has more passages to flow thru.

It might support it.

...it just say how long till heat soak occurs.
