HP difference between 94 and 00 3.8?

hey guys. im new to the 3.8's. ive been doing the SVO's for awhile and someone gave me a 94 auto 3.8 so i figure id have some fun. i have an old eaton and a set of supercoupe heads, i also have an art carr aod with 3400 stall, none of it installed though, just collecting dust in the garage. i had also considered building a turbo setup for it so if anyone has any recommendations on tried and true methods or parts that work well together please let me know. also, what are the differences between the 94-04 3.8. it looks like the power jumps up from 155 to nearly to 200 in 2000 and is it a simlpe cam and head thing or is the compression and everything different. if anyone can help me out with this i appreciate it and please be very specific as this is the first 3.8 ive touched, thanks.

The main difference in 94-98 and 99-04 3.8 engines is that the newer ones have a split port intake/head setup. There are other minor differences, but basically the heads and intake account for most of the 40 extra hp.

Doing a "split port swap" is a common thing for single port owners. Do a search on this over at www.3.8mustang.com . They have enough over there that'll make you an expert on this little essex engine.
