3.8 fit on a 5.0 K member?

I picked up a 3.8 engine/transmission out of a 2000 stang, and plan on tossing in my 83, And need to know if I need the k member from the doner car?

Thanks!
Dan

In theory it should. I know the 87-93 5.0s and 2.3s used the same cradle as the 94-95s. However, in 96 the cradle was redesigned for the 4.6, and adaptor plates/mounts were necessary for the 3.8L to bolt in properly.

So, assuming they didn't change anything in 86 (seeings as how it was the first year for the FI 302) the 3.8 should bolt in. Knowing this, you could reference the motor mount numbers from 86-93 (and possibly 94-95) for the 5.0. If the numbers match the same for your 83, then sure as #### it should fit right down in there.

Thanks for the info!

i looked it up, and the motor mounts have a complete ifferent design, than the 94 3.8 (Have a 94 k member, because no one makes motor mounts to fit the 83 k.)

Looks like I will have to pull the k member off the doner car also!

I suppose I could use the 94 K, but I'd have to buy 3.8 motor mounts for a 94 v6.
