Cold Air Idle Screw Up?

i put a cold air intake on my 2000 3.8l and now it idles high for a second, then drops to normal. also, when you push the clutch in it stays at high idle instead of dropping for a few seconds. i put on a new iac valve and it still does it. i unplugged it and it runs fine, so its something to do with the iac but a new one didnt fix it. any help would be good.

Any chance you forgot to plug one of the holes in the intake? I had to when I installed it on my old 2001 3.8. Having that exposed might screw with the idle

Depending on the CAI, you'll need to tune the car to recognize the difference in air intake flow.

ya i unplugged the battery and when i did it and i though it was supposed to recognize the new parts and tune according to it? or do you mean manually? i messed with the idle a bit but it didnt solve my problem.
