fairmont

thoughts and comments

am wanting to build a fairmont futura. everybody does the v-8 swap so why not be diff and maybe put a 3.8 v6 with maybe a turbo in it ? think it would work would motor mounts be a lot different. do they make turbos for 3.8

not looking for a super fast car just sold one of those wanting something different and reliable, little power enuff to be FUN but something can drive anywhere with no hassels have air power all the features

let me hear your thoughts

talk to andy at tmaturbo.com for a twin turbo kit, if you want to know about boost talk to justin at vmptuning.com (they also have procharger kits), he has a twin turbod junk yard 3.8 100% stock tht is running 17psi and high 10s

you can start with a 01-04 2.8 (even stronger blocks) or a 98+ f150 4.2, which is just a longer stroke, ford loosly copyed buicks 231 GN motor, but used an on center block to its a bit stronger and based the heads off the cleavlands, so stock split port (99-04) will put any E7, windsor, or 281 heads to shame

what tranny you going to run? something fun for DD you could put in a 4R70W with a stall and shift kit and will last and take a beating, or, if you want a racer you could always put a C4 in

Sounds like a perfect sleeper. I'd put some grandpa wheels and some quiet mufflers on it so no one would suspect it.
