99-04 V6 TO V8 SWAP???

What all is entailed to this? Anyone know? I have a 02 V6, and have thought about dropping in a 4.6. Any insight would help.

ya, thats about equal to swaping a 305 into a buick grand natioal because of a "bigger displacement" motor, ford loosly copied buicks 231 GN motor, used an on center block with thick mains, rods that are as thick as 351W rods, and loosly based the heads off the 2V cleavland heads, inturn, making it one of the strongest motors and the best flowing heads out there stock, stock 99-04 heads actually flow about the same as GT40 heads

http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index.php? has 11 psi procharger kits for the v6 100% complete, tuned properly your motor will be fine 100% stock

http://tmaturbo.com/ has turbo/twin kits also, 4.4psi on a stock fuel system will get you around 250 rwhp, but thats a waste, on a 100% stock motor, 12 psi will be fine (with upgraded fuel system on both obviously) and get around 380 rwhp and 430 rwft.lbs of torque,

if you want to know boost, talk to justin at vmptuning.com, he has a 100% stock junkyard motor with twin turbos running 17 psi.

you could also get a 4.2 out of a ford f150 truck and swap it in and base a build up off that, basically its a 3.8 with a longer stroke

http://www.moranav6racing.com/catego...?CategoryID=16 has stroker kits and motor goodies

http://www.supersixmotorsports.com/ has stroker kits and HCI packages

one thing you will need is a detroit true trac and TA rear girdle

or, you can get a new motor, motor mounts, alternator, power steering pump, water pump, fan, radiator, tranny, tranny mounts, drivshaft, rear end, computer, guages, who knows what else your choice, those will all cost the same
