Short Throw Shifter

I want to buy a short throw shifter for my 98 v6 5-spd. Which one do you guys recommend the best? I have heard positive things about the Pro5.0 and the Steeda shifter but im not sure which one is best. Im planning to do the install myself so any words-of-wisdom for a home mechanic would be greatly appreciated! Oh yeah one last thing...Im probably going to change the manual transmission fluid at the same time and I was wondering if Royal Purple tranny lubes are worth the money?

Thank you guys for your help! I REALLY appreciate it!
