4.9 straight six?

So i have a 79 with a blown up 3.3 200 cid straigt six. has anyone ever tried putting the 300 in there? will it fit??

no it will not fit. it is too big and heavy to make it fit and will give you no performance gain. it is a torque motor for a ford truck, put in a 250 cid with a taller hood(if you need space, or if your a real HP junkie (sixer) go find one of those OHC Aussie engines. or just get a later K member and build a 4.2 stroker out of a 3.8

Well ok. i thought it might an interesting idea. i guess i will scratch that. See if i go through all the trouble of swapping k-members im jsut going to go straight to the old 302. but what is this aussie engine? where should i look for it? it sounds expensive?

makes more HP and stays a straight six but I would swap the K-member and run a bent 8 or 6'er. hell if you were close to me I have an extra K for the six or eight (4 banger too)
