Morana Racing ...

Morana Racing seems to carry some interesting parts for the Mustang V6. However, can some items can be sourced stateside for less $$$. For instance, what about the phenolic spacers? T-Bird Super Coupe? And would they be of any value on a n/a V6, or would I just be pi**ing away some $$$ for zero gain? Also, on his valves, he lists a 7mm, 5/16 & 11/32 valve stem size ... what is the stock valve stem size in the Mustang V6? And any other source(s) for valves?

Morana has some nice stuff . You were asking about valve stem diameters. Yes they are 3 different sizes. my motor is a 1987 and uses fatter stems then the 4.2 valves I used from a 1999 4.2/3.8 I had to get custom guides made to mate all my stuff together

will you be pissing money away, yes, its not worth it to mod any car

as for performance. yes the V6 is well worth modding. it doesn't respond too well to basic bolt-ons because it is already well balanced from the factory but HCI and a turbo kit with forged internasls and you have 400rwhp+ for about $6500 invested, a 4k procharger from vmp will put you around 300 rwhp, 11 psi properly tuned for a blower and 14 psi is max for a properly tuend turbo

the Essex are very strong it is one of the best designs ford ever produced. it is a far superior design than the 302 or even the Windsor the head design of the stock 3.8's puts the factory 5.0/windsor heads to shame as do the blocks.

if you have the money then go for it. the 3.8 was copied off of the Buick 3.8 but is a better design and more efficient. you don't hear people saying it's a waste of money to build a turbo buick
