00 Mustang Brakes SUCK!!!!

Hey my dad just got a 00 mustang v-6 and the brakes suck I have a 64 Galaxie with 4 wheel drum brakes and it stops better then this car are these cars known for having stopping problems? I am going to check out the rotors and put in some quality pads tomorrow just thought I would ask you guys if these brakes are that bad or its just my dads car?

the brakes are Very good on a 00 v6/gt. now the Cobras are even better. but the v6 brakes should Kill your 64 anyday of the week.

also look into some Hawk pads for that car. they are Awsome.

Yeah, Matt's right... the brakes on New Edge V6/GT's are actually pretty dang good.

You've probably got something going on if they seem worse than 4-wheel drums

better yet, check out the rear caliper slides in the caliper brackets.
they have a tendency for water intrusion and then seizing up not letting the caliper slide back and forth, essentially not having rear brakes. then after that i would flush the entire brake system, you wouldnt believe the pedal you get after having that done.
